Green List (high evidence)

ID is rare. However, developmental delays reported in a proportion of affected individuals -- this together with dysmorphic features may prompt testing, hence included in this panel.

Red List (low evidence)

There is paucity of literature directly linking SPECC1L variants to intellectual disability and developmental delay. However, Zhang et al. (PMID: 31953237) reviewed 33 patients from 14 families with SPECC1L variants (including 10 missense point mutation and 1 deletion), noting that the most common features were dysmorphic facial characteristics. Developmental delays were reported in 24.2% of patients (8/33), with some achieving normal development during childhood.
